CalAce DMV is an offline-first study app for California DMV practice. The app does not require sign-in. Study content works offline; analytics and Apple purchases use a network connection.
The app stores study progress, language, practice answers, saved questions, notes, exam date, reminder settings, and optional nationality, age range, and gender on your device. Your raw profile text, notes, and exact exam date are not sent to Mixpanel. Onboarding analytics may include predefined study choices, broad non-text buckets, and whether an optional field was filled; a practice event may indicate whether an onboarding example was answered correctly. You can change optional profile details by restarting onboarding in Settings. Removing the app removes its local data, subject to your device backup settings.
Subscriptions and offer-code redemption are handled by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive your payment card details.
We use Mixpanel through its EU ingestion endpoint to understand app usage and improve onboarding and subscriptions. Events include app launches, onboarding step names, paywall views, purchase and restore outcomes, product identifiers, and technical error codes. Mixpanel associates these events with a randomly generated persistent identifier and app/device information such as app version, operating system, and device model. We do not use advertising identifiers, third-party advertising, cross-app advertising tracking, camera, photos, or location permissions. IP-based geolocation is disabled in the app configuration. Network services necessarily receive an IP address when a connection is made. Raw optional demographic text is not sent to analytics. Analytics for onboarding use predefined choices or broad presence/bucket values rather than free-form profile contents.
If you choose to send written feedback in Settings, your message and submission context are sent to our ShortsBlink support backend and Mixpanel EU. They are associated with a persistent installation identifier, app version, language, and technical request information so we can investigate issues and improve the app. Feedback is optional and separate from Appleās rating prompt; avoid including information you do not want to share. This support endpoint stores feedback and does not invoke an AI model. Network services receive connection information such as an IP address. Contact us to request deletion of support feedback.
Notifications are optional and scheduled locally after you enable them. Reminders stop before your exam date. You can disable them in the app or iOS Settings.
Contact us about analytics access or deletion requests. We do not create a named online learner account. Mixpanel processes usage events for us; its privacy information is available at Mixpanel Privacy Policy.
