LeafRoom Care Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Summary: Plant records, photos, notes, schedules, and care logs are stored on your device. If you choose AI photo identification, the selected photo is sent through the ShortsBlink service to OpenAI for analysis. You can keep photos local and add plants manually.

Data stored on your device

The app may store plant names, plant photos selected by you, room names, light level, care schedules, notes, and care history. This information remains on your device and is used to run the plant tracker and reminders.

Photo use

Photos you add to plant records stay on your device unless you allow AI identification. With your permission, the selected photo and your preferred light level are sent to ShortsBlink and OpenAI to identify likely plant types and suggest care. The service also receives an app-generated installation identifier, app and OS version, language, country, and model/request context to operate and protect the AI feature. The installation identifier is not a hardware identifier. AI results may be inaccurate; you can edit or reject them. You can turn off future AI photo uploads in Settings. Keeping a photo local does not require an account or an AI request.

Service data

ShortsBlink processes AI requests and maintains protected service records for operation, security, and troubleshooting. OpenAI processes the photo to produce the requested result. Do not submit photos containing people or private information. Contact us to ask about service data or deletion.

Subscriptions

Purchases and subscription status are handled by Apple's StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment card information.

Notifications

If you allow reminders, LeafRoom Care schedules local notifications on your device for plant care tasks. Notification preferences can be changed in iOS Settings.
