MilkVault Privacy Policy

MilkVault is designed as a local-first app. Pump sessions, feeding logs, stash amounts, expiry dates, language, unit, and onboarding preferences are stored on your device.

Data Collection

MilkVault does not require an online account. Feeding records, pump quantities, notes and baby-profile answers remain in local app storage. Basic app interaction, purchase-outcome and technical error events are sent to Mixpanel for product analytics. These events are associated with a persisted SDK-generated device identifier; they are not anonymous aggregate-only data. The app disables automatic event tracking and IP-based geolocation and uses Mixpanel’s EU ingestion endpoint. The permitted event properties exclude feeding records, quantities, notes and baby-profile answers.

Local Data

The app stores your tracking data locally on your device using Apple device storage. If you delete the app, local app data may be deleted by iOS.

Analytics and retention

Mixpanel processes the events and device identifier described above to help us understand onboarding and purchase reliability. Removing local app data does not automatically erase previously sent analytics events. Contact us with a privacy request if you need help with previously collected analytics data.

Optional AI stash summary

Only after you explicitly agree, MilkVault sends aggregate refrigerator/freezer bag counts, which location expires first, and the device language through our secure gateway to OpenAI or Google Gemini. It does not send names, notes, feeding records, milk amounts, or health information.

The gateway records the app, a random installation identifier, country, language, app environment, model, request input and output, status, timing, and cost for up to 90 days for feature operation, failure and abuse investigation, and spending controls. These records are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. You can decline and continue without the AI summary.

Purchases

Subscriptions and offer-code redemption are handled by Apple App Store systems. Apple may process purchase information according to Apple's own terms and privacy policy.

MilkVault is for logging and organization. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, lactation treatment, or feeding recommendations.
