Pet Records: VetCue stores onboarding answers, selected language, pet profile details, health records, reminders, emergency summary data, AI scan usage counters, and subscription status needed to unlock premium features.
You may enter pet names, species, breed, age, weight, microchip details, allergies, vaccine records, medication notes, vet visit summaries, lab notes, and related care reminders. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting all record details before using them.
When you scan a vaccine card or similar document, VetCue reads text on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The selected document image and recognized text are not sent to the AI gateway by that scan flow. Review and correct the result before saving it as a record.
Optional Quick AI and Fill with AI prepare a pet or record draft only after you explicitly allow AI data sharing in the app. VetCue sends the typed request, or a voice recording for transcription, plus the names of existing pets used to match a record to the right pet. These inputs can contain sensitive pet health information. VetCue sends them to the ShortsBlink gateway, which routes voice recordings to OpenAI GPT Transcribe and request text and relevant pet names to OpenAI for intent detection and pet-draft extraction, or to Anthropic Claude for record-draft extraction. OpenAI may also process a record draft if the Anthropic result fails. The generated draft returns to VetCue for your review; it is not saved until you choose Save. You can decline AI sharing and enter pets and records manually, or stop future AI sharing from the Quick AI screen.
The gateway may retain request text, transcripts, responses, and technical usage records for up to 90 days for operation, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and spending controls. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive health or owner information in AI requests. To ask about deletion of gateway-held data, contact us below.
We use these processors only to deliver the AI feature you request and require comparable confidentiality and security protections for data shared through the app. ShortsBlink encrypts its stored AI request and response logs. OpenAI and Anthropic state that commercial API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models by default and publish their own data-retention controls. Their practices are described in OpenAI's API data controls and Anthropic's commercial data-retention policy. We will stop routing VetCue data to a processor if its safeguards no longer meet this standard.
If configured, Mixpanel may be used to understand app usage and improve product flows. Events include the app name as a property. If configured, Sentry may collect crash and error diagnostics. These tools help improve stability and do not give us your Apple payment card details.
Purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and offer-code redemption are handled by Apple StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment card number.
