Summary
CiteSnap Bibliography is designed as a local-first citation tool. It does not require an account, does not use advertising tracking, and does not send your citation entries to an app-controlled server.
Information stored on your device
Citation identifiers you enter, citation drafts, saved citations, your onboarding choice, and your selected citation style are stored locally on your device so the app can provide its library and export features. You can clear saved citations in Settings.
Camera
If you choose Scan barcode, CiteSnap uses the camera only to read a book barcode into a local citation draft. Camera images are not uploaded, retained by CiteSnap, or used for advertising.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple through StoreKit and your Apple ID. CiteSnap does not receive or store payment card information.
No third-party analytics or AI provider
The current app does not include third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, a remote citation backend, or an AI provider. CiteSnap uses deterministic local validation and fixture data in V1.
