PlumeCue field support

Compare the clues.

Bird Identifier: PlumeCue turns one bird photo or a 3–30 second call into up to three regional candidates, so you can review field marks before deciding what you observed.

Support

PlumeCue is a recreational birdwatching aid for observations worldwide. Candidate shortlists can be incomplete or wrong. Confirm unusual or uncertain sightings with a current field guide or local expert.

Quick help

Camera, photos, or microphone unavailable?

Open iOS Settings and review PlumeCue permissions. You can also import a file, use a labeled practice sample, or compare species manually in the offline Field Guide.

No shortlist appeared?

Check the media limits and selected country or U.S. state/DC, then try again when online. A clear bird photo or a 3–30 second call works best. Provider errors do not use an included identification.

The suggestion looks wrong?

Match strength is relative, not certainty. Inspect plumage, shape, habitat, range, behavior, and call clues. Keep the note unconfirmed or use the manual Guide.

Need an earlier sighting?

The free tier keeps the three newest real sightings visible. PlumeCue Plus unlocks the complete retained history. Lapsing Plus does not delete stored sightings.

Subscriptions and restore

PlumeCue includes three successful real-media identifications. PlumeCue Plus may be offered weekly or yearly through Apple and removes that three-result allowance while making the complete retained field history available. Both plans provide the same Plus features and have no free trial. A local limit of six identification requests per minute applies to all users.

The app displays the current localized StoreKit price. Use Restore Purchases in PlumeCue if you already subscribed, or Manage Subscription to change or cancel through Apple. Deleting the app or local data does not cancel a subscription.

Media and local data

Your field notes, preferences, consent receipt, and usage ledger stay on your device. When you ask for identification and consent, PlumeCue sends the prepared photo or call plus the selected country or U.S. state/DC directly to Google’s Gemini API over HTTPS. PlumeCue has no custom backend, Firebase service, account, or Google sign-in. It does not include your name, field log, notes, or precise coordinates in the request.

Delete individual notes or use Delete All Local Data in Settings. Revoking Media Transfer Consent removes only the local consent receipt and asks again before a future AI request.
